COVID-19 Pandemic Response

COVID-19 Update: November 2021

Keeping you, your community and your vet team safe

The pandemic has thrown us may challenges. Throughout, BVS has plced the health and safety of our staff and clients at the fore, while continuing to provide veterinary care.

There is limited evidence that pets are at risk or able to spread COVID-19. The federal government has confirmed that vets are an essential service. This means that we will continue to operate throughout stages of lockdown.

We are still able to welcome you into our clinic, ensuring appropriate social distancing and have implemented the following changes.

These include:
  • Only one client will be able to enter the clinic and attend the consultation
  • We understand that sometimes children must come, but request where possible they remain at home
  • All clients must register their details (via QR code or manual sign in) and sanitise their hands on arrival
  • All clients must be fully vaccinated to enter the clinic except for those with medical exemptions and children under 12 years of age
  • We will check vaccination status upon entry to the clinic, if you are not fully vaccinated (this means 14 days after your second booster vaccination) or do not wish to disclose your status then please wait outside and press the bell for assistance
  • Masks are required at all times by staff and clients (covering both nose and mouth), this includes in the consult room with the veterinarian. If you have an exemption, we will request you wait outside.

Unvaccinated or prefer not to say:

  • For consultations please remain outside. One of the customer service team will acknowledge ou and a vet will attend outside to initiate the consultation and explain the next steps. Payment will occur over the phone
  • For food/medication sales please call, order and pay over the phone- one of the staff will deliver to your vehicle.
In addition to this, if you are unwell, please do not attend your appointment, please call to reschedule, or if urgent, organise a friend or family members to attend with your pet.

Thank you for respecting our policies that help to ensure continuity of service for all and help protect our staff, other clients and our business.

Call and Collect or Home Delivery Service

For all food, merchandise and medication sales we will operate a Call and Collect service OR if you live within ~10km radius we are happy to deliver to your home at no additional cost.

The procedure to follow is:

  • Prior to arrival, call the clinic to order the required product for your pet.
  • Payment should be processed over the telephone when ordering.
  • Upon arrival at the clinic, please use the hand sanitiser provided and wait outside until one of our customer care representative comes out to assist you.
  • If it is safe for you to enter the building, we will invite you into the reception to collect your purchases. If not we will bring your purchases out to you.

If you live within 10km of one of our clinics and would prefer home delivery, follow steps 1 and 2 and we will then confirm a delivery day for your product, direct to your home. Delivery will be to your front door and we will call or text once it has been delivered.
